Classes

What to expect

  • art explorers is a parent/ carer participation class, a time to enjoy getting creative and messy in a relaxed environment

  • A different theme is explored each week with a range of art and craft activities. You can expect to go stomping with dinosaurs, dive under the sea, blast into space and go on a bug hunt! No week is the same!

  • Classes last approximately 45 minutes

  • A range of activities using different materials are provided. Your child can choose to work through 3 or 4 activities or can stay focused on 1 or 2. Children have different concentration spans and the class takes this into consideration!

  • You and your child probably will get messy, so wear old clothes. Aprons are provided for children and adults feel free to bring one yourself

How are arts and crafts classes beneficial to pre-schoolers?

Aside from being great fun, creative play can help your child's development in a number of areas, including:

  • fine motor skills

  • communication and language development

  • mathematical development

  • understanding of cause and effect

  • thinking creatively

  • social skills

Who runs the class?

I'm Hannah, I run art explorers - I love art and working with young children.

After many years of trying out art and craft ideas with my children at home ( and covering the kitchen table in glitter and paint) I decided to start up art explorers in Sydney where we were living.

I love to paint, draw and create myself - you can see some of my work at Art by Hannah Barritt on Facebook and instagram. I have taken art courses on many subjects from- watercolours to woodcarving. Prior to getting messy with art explorers I worked in London and Sydney as a qualitative researcher after completing a history degree at Keble College, Oxford University.
